Bitou Mayor inspects local schools

Executive Mayor, Ald. Lulama Mvimbi and a group of high-ranking officials visit the Phakamisani Primary School in Kwanokhutula

Mayor Lulama Mvimbi and a contingent of high profile community leaders visited local schools as part of his back-to-school campaign. The back-to-school campaign is part of the ANC’s “better life for all” commitment towards service delivery.

The visits were led by Executive Mayor, Alderman Lulama Mvimbi, and was joined by various MP’s including Randy Pieterse, Johan Geldeblom, Deputy Mayor, Monica Seyise, Speaker of Bitou Council, Lawrence Luiters and councilor Mirriam Sishuba.

“One of the major reasons we visited some schools in the area the day before re-opening the academic year, was to ensure that they are properly cleaned and made habitable for the children. This was done impeccably by the willingness of 75 volunteers,” he said.

“It was also great to have some engagement with the teachers with regard to the schools’ state of readiness. The meetings with the school principals were fruitful and they are ready to handle any late registrations that may occur”.
