CRIME STOP
All is quiet at present in
Bitou. Part of the reason is that the crime combating unit from
George was here over the weekend. They came to our area to help
stabilize the Bossiesgif confrontation situation. The hobby
beach parking spot was problematic with two cars broken into.
People on holiday are in a pleasant mood, quite rightly so, but
at the same time one must be realistic and be careful wherever
you are.
Unfortunately crime in our country has no boundaries. Residents
in the 'Poortjies' area are very much aware of this situation
and the residents are helping the Police by patrolling the
streets and the beach late into the night... for which the
Police are most grateful.
A gentle request however if for anyone aware of suspicious
behavior in the street to immediately report such to the Police
station and not to do so the day afterwards! PLEASE... after
numerous requests in this column do not leave your laptop
unguarded. Another one was stolen from 'Le Valliant's apartment
complex. It seems like there is some inside information
forthcoming. Unity makes strength...please keep the Police
informed about anything you feel uncomfortable about. The number
to dial 044 533 2100 or 10111.
