Senior Sotheby's London Specialists to visit Kurland

 Joanna Hardy and Dendy Easton, both senior jewellery and paintings specialists at Sotheby's London, will be visting Kurland next week to provide free valuations of paintings and other rare jewellery pieces to Plettenberg Bay residents.

Joanna Hardy is the Department Head, Director of Sotheby's London Jewellery Department  and has been in the jewellery trade for nearly 30 years. Trained as a goldsmith she worked as a jewellery designer, before working for De Beers where she valued and graded rough diamonds. Now a Senior Specialist for the Sotheby's London Jewellery Department, having joined the company in 1995, Joanna takes auctions of jewellery in the company's New Bond Street Galleries and is responsible for assessing and valuing jewellery worldwide for sales at Sotheby's New York, Geneva and London. Joanna has recently joined the team of specialists on the BBC's Antique Road Show. Dendy is a Senior British and Continental Paintings Consultant, and has been part of the auction world since 1971. He joined Sotheby's in 1978 as Head of their Picture Department initially in Sussex and then Olympia in London. He regularly appears on the BBC's Antiques Road Show and has been coming to South Africa for the past 12 years. His encyclopaedic knowledge of paintings has resulted in the discovery of many valuable works in South Africa.

 All opinions and valuations are kept in the strictest confidence. The valuations take place at Kurland between 3 and 4 March (10:00 – 17:00)
